The
scriptures have emphasized the combination of body as well as the
universe. The position and development of human being and as
well as the flora and the fauna of the world rest upon the
balance of environment. As a human being it is our prime duty
to maintain the natural environment. Only in these
presentation lie the
culture of society and the safety of the future generation.

Thousands
of saplings have been planted and are being maintained to protect
the environment by the enthusiastic youths of the Gurukul.
Moreover, a program for the plantation of saplings is also
being taken up by the Gurukul. Through charitable programs Gurukul in
the past , has planted thousands of trees throughout Gujarat,
and the strive will be to continue with it.

supply of water, thus ending the scarcity problem.
As per the benevolent messages of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, for
the services of mankind, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot, in

PROBLEM OF WATER
For
Several years now, the shortage of water has been a common
problem in the Saurashtra and Kutch regions of Gujarat due the
lack of sufficient rain.
RECHARGING THE WELLS :
In addressing the aforementioned problem, the Gurukul has
successfully taken on the task of recharging the wells.
Tremendous success has been achieved in this regards !
DHARMAJIVAN JAL SANCHAY ABHIYAN
In the
year 2000, the water crisis had reached an all time high as the
scarcity of water continued to worsen and became more and more
acute. Each and every drop of water is very essential and
valuable and should be used in the most economic manner, minimising wastage. It is vital that the internal source of
water does not dry out, but rather ensures its constant flow,
thus preventing further disaster. The solution to this ongoing
crisis is the construction of check dams (Temples of Water).
To address this crisis, the Gurukul has been the catalyst in
commencing the 'Dharmajivan Jal Sanchay Abhiyan' under the holy
guidance of Sdg. Shastri Shree Madhavpriydasji. This activity
has been implemented in full throttle by Sadguru Shastri
Madhavpriyadasji Swami, embodying the credentials and high
spirits of the Gurukul. Swamiji has visited 108 villages to address and educate the people on the
subject problem and how to solve it.
Created a tempo for water storing :-
Encouraged village people to co-operate for the construction
of check dams (Jal Mandir i.e. Temple of Water) and to lend a
voluntary hand in labour services.
Laid the foundation stone for such dams and ponds (Dharmajivan
Jal Sarovar).
Granted guidance for the expedited construction of check dams
by providing a team of experienced engineers and service
personnel.
Wherever necessary, provided free bags of cement, through
Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul.
As a result, in all the 108 villages, the work of check dams
has been finalised.
In all these activities, co-operation from local associations,
workers and organisations to solve water crises has been well
founded.
Also, in Kutch, during the Jal-Yatra Program arranged by
Sahajanand Rural Trust, Vivekanand Trust and Kisan-Sangh,
meetings were conducted in 11 villages resulting in foundation
stones laid down by Shastri Shree Madhavpriydasji Swami for
work of constructing check dams (Jal Mandirs) and ponds at the
expense of more than One crore rupees.
