Education is a life-long learning process. Learning
happens all the time; not only in pre-designated place
called the school. It happens in home as well as between
home and school too. The parents' & school's mission
should be to provide learning environment &
opportunities to the children- the learners.
Each & every child is a unique person and has got
inborn gifts, innate talents & immense potential.
The home & the school both should provide the child
with the opportunity to discover and develop this talent
to the fullest. The society should appreciate &
support, not only the efforts of the parents & the
school but also the efforts & expression of talent
of the student.
Children have natural curiosity, which must be
encouraged and must not be suppressed. Due to various
reasons, sometime students hesitate to ask. The parents
at home & educators at school should encourage them
to ask.
Each child deserves the best and therefore it is our
responsibility to provide them the best. And in the
context of "global village", we should provide
them best of the all - best of the East and best of the
West. Best of the time-tested ancient values and best of
the modern & latest methods to instill these values.
In this digital age of speed, student is also required
to learn "how to learn", to learn new things
at an astounding rate and appreciate life-long learning.
Student needs all round exposure & preparation for
the present as well as future.
Student needs both, freedom & discipline. Because of
freedom, creativity springs forth and through
discipline, it finds the correct expression. It is
therefore required to balance freedom with discipline
for the development. Home and school both should ensure
this balance.
One can
always excel at what one can do. Parents & educators
both should encourage student to excel in what he does.
Child
should learn science & technology
in order to ensure intellectual advancement.
But, he should also learn,
to develop a keen interest and spirit of free enquiry
leading him
to know and love, the height of mountains, depth of
valleys
and wonders of ocean.
In
tune with nature, children learn naturally & very
easily.
