Vimshati Festival
As Swaminarayan Gurukul Vidyalaya
completed its twenty
years, its Vimshati mahotsava was celebrated. In this
festival, various programmes were organised. Social
services for the development
of the society were
organised. During this festival in the vast and wide
playground of the Vidyalaya, a huge assembly of
the
parents of the students was organized.
In this the
saints delivered religious leatures and narratives.
Group Mahapooja Festival
The construction of the new hostel
building was in progress.
In the Prayer hall all the Haribhaktas
gathered and performed
the Mahapuja.

Shibirs
To instill the importance and value of
our great ancient culture
and
heritage in children and youths, the
following shibirs are
being organized.

Balshibir - Children assembly
To cultivate the culture in a tender age the Balshibirs are being
organised for the children up to 16 years of age. These
Balshibirs
generally concentrate on the students
who are unable
to get education through
Gurukul, as the Gurukul students have
the advantage of these opportunities
during their Gurukul life. The
students from distant villages are invited during vacations and are
taught the value of the culture and heritage, moral life and
benefits of leading a religious life, through various
programmes such as discourses,
celebrations of festivals,
practical
performances and self development
activities.
Yuvashibir - Youth assembly
In this ever polluting atmosphere, it is important that the youth
is to be
given training to face the problems
squarely and solving
them. Yuvashibir brings out the innate talent of the youths
and directs them in the proper
direction for the creative output
of the society.
Volunteers Training Camp
Coordinators of the Yuvak mandals are
given training to motivate
the enthusiastic youths to develop their
character and pursue
good conduct,
towards the betterment of their
personal life and
of the society.
Various types of services are rendered
to the society on a large
scale.
Occasions like disastrous "Kutchh - Earth
quake" when it
earthquake shattered
the villages and towns Saints
and
volunteers moved from village to
village and house to house
and distributed blankets, food,
materials, clothes in large
proportion.
To overcome the effects of draught,
the Saints of the institution
served
to dig 'Narsinh Mehta' lake situated
at Junagadh. |
