Kathamrut
* Check up of the soul can be performed by self-inspection, scriptures and in the company of saints ( Sant-samagam ).
* Devotion rises only from sacrifice or endurance.
* Hand burns with hot water but heart burns with hot words.
* Anger starts from foolishness and ends in repentance.
* With endurance only great deeds take place.
* A Saint is he, who by his own thought, word and deeds, brings changes in the lives of others and leads them towards betterment.
* The greatest service towards the Sampraday is to live according to the commands of Lord Swaminarayan.
* If goods are not stored, there is no enemy from outer world. If attachment is severed there is no enemy even in the inner worlds.
* Youths must serve the elders.
* Elders lived for you so, O Young ! You bear them
* We should neither puff up with praise nor fear from slander but we have to work to please Lord Swaminarayan.
* Shastriji Maharaj has taught us by his life, we must follow him.
* Disobeying the commands of Shreeji Maharaj will certainly cause miseries and sorrows and as a result, one has to suffer without fail.
* There must be upliftment of life by attending this Shibir.
* Jealousy is not being sad with one’s own distress but it is being sad with others’ happiness.
* Jealousy is an open knife in one’s own pocket, which kills him.
* Hatred towards others is an acid in the heart.
* Mistake increases in addition but sin always goes up in multiplication.
* It is easy to follow thousand vows in life but it is hard to even give up a single bad habit from the life. One has to struggle for that.
* To be ahead in spiritual life, always keep afresh the memories of this Shibir.

* Dama (control over senses) and Shama (control over mind )both are equally essential.
* Whatever may be the Bhajan or Donation etc, but if there are viruses caused by ego, hatred etc in heart, result will not be good.
* This shibir is for self- introspection and Anushthan helps in that.

“Today you are taking your pariksha (test); however, a spiritual path has three important components: Pariksha (test), Samiksha (introspection) and Pratiksha (waiting)”.
The true pariksha is when you start taking your own photo with the camera of your own heart. So, the true pariksha is when you start watching yourself, knowing that God and Guru are always watching you.
The second aspect is Samiksha – introspection. We must constantly analyze and re-analyze ourselves. We must never become complacent. Each night, we must examine the balance sheet of our day: what were our successes, what were our failures. And for all the successes, all our ‘plus-points’ we must give credit to God. For, we have truly done nothing but let Him work through us. All credit goes to Him. He is the one who saves us, who maintains our dignity and our success. Our failures, we must also give to him. The fault is ours, definitely. Yet, He is so forgiving and so compassionate that He insists we turn these over to Him as well. A true spiritual seeker always introspects frequently and always strives to be better the next day.
Last is pratiksha – waiting. One must always wait. We must do our sadhana, perform our duties and then wait for the grace of God to shine upon us.
It is not sin to be a feeble but it is sin to remain feeble.

* After tremendous efforts great saints have created the paths for salvation.
* A little jealousy can also destroy society.
* We must fulfill the purpose of this human body for which it is allotted by Maharaj, before it gets weakened.
* We should remember the divine occasions and of this shibir forever and its power should retain through out the life.
… Pujya Purani Shree Balkrishnadasji Swami

* Satva thinks of the result or future. Rajas thinks of present only and doesn’t care for future. And if there is no thought of future or present, that is Tamas.
* Bad company awakens bad intentions and also introduces into more bad motives.
* Pure spirit or intelligence always favours best things.
* Ignorance can be eliminated by knowledge (Gyan) but fascination (Moh) ignores the truth (knowledge) also, however knowledge may support Moh. Moh can be removed only with the company of ‘Nirmohi’ saints
* Boredom lies in Dehabhiman (sense of body as soul) but not in meditation or worship.
* True devotion favours devotee than personal habits (nature)
* Softness, endurance, forbearing etc must for pleasure of Shreeji Maharaj but not for the bad company (kusang).
…Pujya Purani Shree Devprasaddasji Swami

* Akaar (shape) of materialistic world and that of Lord are entirely different. Meditation of Lord leads to salvation whereas that of world creates endless cycle of rebirth and death.
* Sorting of virtue and fault depends on its result.
* Knowledge is barren if it doesn’t generate devotion.
* Not only due to attachment towards God, but only if there is keen intention and company of saints to modify the approach of life then only vrutti remains in the Lord.
* From the point of body, Lord lies in the heart, and from the point of universe, Lord lies in the saint.
* The true disciple is one who spreads the lineage of the Guru.
