Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul
celebrated Makara Sankrati at Tarvada - the birth
place of its founder Shastriji Maharaj Shree
Dharmajivandas Swamiji on Thursday the 15th
January which was attended by many Saints &
various leaders of the society.
On this auspicious occasion
the foundation stone laying ceremony of
Dharmajivan Sarovar (Lake) was performed by Sdg.
Mahant Shree Devkrishnadas Swamiji, as a part of
water-conservation project undertaken by Gurukul.
Under the scheme for Gau-poojan in 300 villages,
Saints & guests performed Gau-poojan with
Vedic-chants.
Students of Gurukul along
with Haribhaktas welcomed with full honors all the
devotees from 60 surrounding towns & villages who
had performed incessant Dhun for over 6 hours.
Kothari Swami Shree Harijivandasji Swami along
with Bhandari Swami Shree Hariprasaddasji Swami
worshipped Lord Shree Swaminarayan with Janamangal
Stotra in the end of Incessant Dhun.
On this occasion Sdg. Purani
Shree Gnyanswaroopdasji Swami spoke on the
significance of Makara Sankranti & benefits of
leading a harmonious life filled with affection.

Hariswaroopdasji Swami emphasized on the
responsibilities of youth & reminded that taking
care of parents would be the prime responsibility
of children.
Sdg. Shastri Shree
Madhavpriyadas Swamiji spoke on importance of
doing good-deeds (Sadachar)& made everyone to
realize to lead a life based on strong & good
values.
Sdg. Mahant Shree
Devkrishnadasji Swami in his blessings stressed
that one should lead a life liked by Lord. The
life should always be based morals & ethics.
Yajamaans for the Utsav
were Shree Harikrishnabhai Chaturbhai Babaria
(USA) along with Shree Hiteshkumar Kantibhai Patel
(Rajkot) and Shree Shivalalbhai Bhanderi (Taravada). Everyone
relished the Bhojan Prasad at the end of the Utsav.
