Summer Cricket Camp - SGVP

SGVP International School organised a Summer Cricket Camp to train the cricket enthusiasts under the banner of well renowned Kiran More International Cricket Association (KMICA). It has been governed by the chairman of Indian Cricket Team Selection Committee and also the former wicket-keeper of Indian Cricket Team Kiran More. The main objective of this camp is to make the participants more efficient and expert so that they can keep a hand-eye-coordination to play impeccable knocks and also get expertise in the field of cricket.

A long-awaited event arrived on 25th April 2005 when the heartthrob of cricket lovers Mr. Irfan Pathan entered the portals of SGVP and visited the institution. He praised the SGVP to the skies and said that the verdant turf of the SGVP is good enough to train the dab hands of young cricket fans. SGVP gave him a warm welcome and he cut the ribbon to inaugurate the camp. The bigwigs and luminaries of SGVP ushered him into the hall and finally to the dais where he lit up the lamp and delivered an extempore speech. A sense of excitement was in the air and the entire SGVP was reverberating as the whole surroundings filled with cheers. The eminent saints of SGVP showered on him the blessings and the holy words for his well-being. He also displayed the enchanting art of his bowling on the pitch, which attracted the eyes of even passersby.

Mr. Balvindarsigh Sandhu : coaching SGVP students

   
 

On 27 April a famous cricket Coach Mr. Balvindarsigh Sandhu visited the SGVP and the camp. He highly appreciated the activities of Gurukul which are unparalleled especially in the sphere of education and sports.

 

EUPHORIC MOMENTS : On 17th May 2005 a heartwarming sight stole the scene and attracted the attention of onlookers when the stylish former wicket keeper of Indian Cricket Team, Kiran More strolled on the cricket ground of SGVP International School, Gurukul Chharodi. The saints of Gurukul and school authorities gave him a warm welcome.

He also received the blessings from Pujyapad Shree Jogi Swamiji He paid personal attention to every cricket lover and explained the techniques of hand-eye-coordination for playing impeccable shots. His presence lifted up the spirits of youngsters and also, enthralled them to great extent. Sound of jubilation of cricket fans reverberated through the silent streets of SGVP and thus made these moments a memorable event.

 

THRILLING MOMENTS : MRF Pace Foundation is a Chennai based institution, which imparts the techniques of bowling and thus every year produces good dab hands to heighten the standard of Indian cricket. On 24th May 2005 Mr. T. A. Sekar, a former medium pace bowler of Indian cricket team was present at SGVP to select the right person for further training.

According to him Pankit Khant (student of SGVP) was the right choice and so he was selected by them for further training. He is going to Chennai in the forthcoming month of August for special training, which may make him an eminent cricketer of the incoming years. Such events boost up the enthusiasm of youngsters and encourage them to be a good cricket player.
