Bhoomi-poojan & Alumni get-together- Gurukul Junagadh

Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul, Junagadh the very first branch of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul, Rajkot motivates and maintains various activities of Gurukul and nourishes the Satsang since 1962. With the Agnya of Sadguru Shastriji Maharaj Shree Dharmajivandasji Swami, Pujya Mugat Swami Shree Nirannamuktadasji Swami successfully shouldered the entire responsibilities for thirty years and satisfied the objectives of Gurukul in spite of many hurdles. He cultivated several students and devotees as the true followers of Shreeji Maharaj.  After the departure of Pujya Mugat Swami for Akshardham, Sadguru Purani Shree Gyanswarupdasji Swami is successfully propagating the benevolent activities of Gurukul since last 15 years. Primary-secondary schools, IT College, hostel, Vivekanand High school, Bal-yuvak centers, celebrations, training camps, etc activities are going well under his guidance.

With the need of time and demand of society, it is indeed to expand the activities of Gurukul on wide scale. To meet necessitates, Gurukul acquired land at Sabalpur cross-road - Junagadh, near Gurukul Junagadh. A fruit garden with 125 Kesar Mango trees and 150 coconut trees is obtained by Gurukul for spiritual, educational and social purposes.

On 21st May, 2006 Bhoomi-poojan ceremony was held in the presence of elder saints and dignitaries of the society. In the morning, a group Mahapooja was held under the banner of forth coming ‘Shree Harikrishna Maharaj Mahotsav’. 1551 Mahapooja were performed on newly acquired land.

 An alumni get-together was also held at Gurukul Junagadh on 20-21st May, 2006. Alumni from Junagadh and far places also took part enthusiastically. In the holy presence of Sadguru Mahant Swami Shree Devkrishnadasji Swami and Sadguru Shastri Swami Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami, alumni enjoyed the gathering with friends and co-students. Pujya Purani Shree Gyanswarupdasji Swami recommended them to continue with pious and spiritual practices in life forever.

On 22nd May after the 1551 group Mahapooja, Bhoomi-poojan was performed with the pious hands of elder saints, alumni and devotees. Sadguru Shastri Swami Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami said that the earth of Jumagadh is the land of Jogis and great spiritual personalities. Bhagawan Shree Krishna and Bhagawan Shree Swaminarayan had performed many divine deeds (Charitras) on this land. Due to the efforts of Gurukul family now one more center of excellence will spread the benevolent massage of Bhagawan Shree Swaminarayan.

Pujya Purani Shree Gyanswarupdasji Swami stated the that activities will start with a contemporary cowshed with latest equipments and cows will be served. Moreover center for Bal & yuva Manch (Centers for kids and youths) and educational activities will be held for new generation and social purposes.

On this pious occasion, poojan of Shree Shaligramaji worshipped by Sadguru Shree Gopalanand Swami and Shree Lalji worshipped by Sadguru Shree Nityanand Swami, was performed by elder saints. It was followed by the rituals of Gau-poojan.

Sadguru Mahant Swami Shree Devkrishnadasji Swami blessed all devotees, guests and alumni.

The farm is named as ‘Gyanbag’ in the pious memory of Gyanbag at Vadatal where Bhagawan Shree Swaminarayan has performed various divine deeds along with Nand-saints and devotees.
