Parents have infinite obligations on children. However, sincere sons keep these in their mind by performing various memorable rituals and events.

Shree Chandubhai Dave was a staunch follower of Shree Swaminarayan Bhagawan and greatly blessed by Shree Abaji Bapa, Sadguru Shree Shastriji Maharj and Pujyapad Shree Jogi Swamiji. The Current year is the centesimal year of Shree Chandubhai. On this pious occasion, his son Shree Navinbhai Dave, trustee of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul – Rajkot arranged for Pitru-Vandana at village Amrutvel (Dist. Amreli) the birth place of Shree Chandubhai.

With the blessings of Pujyapad Shree Jogi Swamiji, on 23 December 2007 a ‘Pitru-vandana and Shakotsav’ was arranged in the holy presence of PPDD Acharya Maharajshree Rakeshprasadji Maharaj and saints from various shrines of the Sampraday and thousands of devotees from the various regions.

After the warm welcome of PPDD Acharya Maharajshree, with the lit up of lamp by the holy hands of dignitaries the celebration was inaugurated along with the recitation of Vedic Stotras by Shastri Shree Vrujlalbhai and Rushikumars.

Shree Navinbhai addressed the audience and introduced the inspiring lifespan of his father Shree Chandubhai. Dave family offered a home-temple with the metal idol of Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj same as the Murti in Akshar-Bhuvan at Vadatal to Maharajshree. Dave family extended their honour to Pujya Maharajshree and all saints.

During the Rushikesh Shibir Sadguru Shastri Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami had explained lucidly the meaning of Janmangal Namavali. MP3 CD of the same as ‘Janmangal Mantrarth’ and explanation on meditation as ‘Dhyan-yog’ were released by the holy hands of PPDD Maharakshree.

Purani Shree Hariswarupdasji Swami delivered a speech explaining the importance of Pitu-Vandana in his exclusive style of speech.

Along with Gurukul family, saints from various shrine welcomed Shree Navinbhai Dave for his kind cooperation for Sampraday and especially for Gurukul. Devotees also congratulated Shree Navinbhai for this inspiring event of Pitru-Vandana. Students of Gurukul Ahmedabad presented astonishing cultural programmes. A blood donation camp was also arranged by ‘Satkarm Group’.

PPDD Acharya Maharaj Shree blessed Shree Navinbhai, Dave family for their devotional contribution in Sampraday and other devotees as well for participating in such inspiring celebration.

In the end, all saints and devotees took the Prasad of Shakotsav. Saints from Vadatal, Junagadh, Gadhada, Fareni, Dwaraka, Chateradi, Dhoraji, Savar-kundala, Loj, Una, Ahmedabad graced the occasion. Devotees from Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Vapi, Amreli, Gandhinagar, Una, USA also participated the celebration.
