“My follower shall perform ‘Purashchran’ (repeated recitations
for at least a particular number) of the tenth ‘Skand’ of
Shreemad Bhagawat, Vihnu-SahasraNam, etc. in a holy place as per
their individual capacity. Such a Purshcharan helps one to
attain desired objects”. – Bhagawan Shree Swaminarayan,
Shikshapatri Shlok 118.
As per the command of Bhagawan Shree Swaminarayan in
Shikshapatri, the follower should perform Purshcharan of
Vishnu-SahasraNam and other approved scriptures at holy places.
Purshcharan means repeated recitation of scripture or Stotras.
Such Purshcharan fulfills one’s desires – is the boon of
Bhagawan Shree Swaminarayan (Shikshapatri – Shloka 118).
Alumni of Gurukul sustain the traditions of Sampraday and
Sanskars obtained from Gurukul, wherever they settle in India or
abroad. Shree Virajibhai Paghdal from village Kunkavav (Dist:
Amreli) is an alumna of Gurukul Rajkot and now well settled in
US. His family decided for the Purashcharan and performed the
11,000 thousand recitations of Vishnu-SahasraNam Stotra and
Janmangal Stotra. For the celebration of this Purashchran they
arranged for a Maha-Vishnu Yag at their native village Kunkavav.
For the Maha-Vishnu Yag Shree Virajibhai did the Sankalp-Vidhi
at SGVP by the learned Pandits of Sanskit Mahavidyalay. In
addition, Rushikumars of Sanskrit Mahavidyalay too, performed
the 108 recitations of Vishnu-SahasraNam, Jan-Mangal,

understanding and harmony among the various Sampradays of
Hinduism when the great Indian culture is severely affected by
