Rath Yatra is a holy event celebrated across the India represents the mega procession of chariots of Jagannatha Puri, Orissa the eastern shrine of India.

With the Pratishtha of Bhagawan Shree Jagannathji in new prayer hall, Gurukul Ahmedabad set the tradition of Rath Yatra taken out in the western part of Ahmedabad. On 24 June ’09 the second Rath Yatra was taken out in great zeal and devotion in which thousands of devotees had participated.

In eastern Ahmedabad, Rath Yatra is celebrated since last 132 years. As a custom, Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat set out the Rath yatra by cleaning the path with broom.

A traditional Poojan was offered to Shree Jagannathiji, Sister Subhadraji and Brother Baldevji. In this second Ratayatra in western region of Ahmedabad, honorable state home minister Shree Amitbhai Shah initiated the holy Rath with Aarati and sweeping the path of Rath Yatra. Thousands of devotees had taken part in Rath Yatra and took the privilege of Darshan and Poojan of Bhagwan Jagannathji. During the procession several religious and social institutes and centers welcomed it warmly and honoured the Rath Yatra.
